- Bay of Bengal cyclone season. Cyclone Arnab (late October 2026) damaged the Kothavalasa–Kirandul rail line between Chimidipalli and Paida and hit ghat roads in the Araku–Ananthagiri area. We could not confirm full reopening: check train, road and attraction status before booking.
- Monsoon: landslide risk on ghat roads and the rail line. Authorities have closed Borra Caves, the Tribal Museum, Padmapuram Gardens and the waterfalls during heavy rain before (September 2024).
- Holiday peak: the Araku ghat road has been made one-way at busy times, with vehicles returning to Vizag sent via Paderu (December 2025). Allow extra time.
